Associate Professor Anil Keshava

Clinical Associate Professor Anil Keshava is a colorectal surgeon at Concord Hospital and Macquarie University Hospital, Sydney. He graduated in Medicine from the University of Sydney and completed general surgical training on the central –western rotation in Sydney. He then completed post fellowship training in colorectal surgery at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne and Concord Hospital in Sydney. This was followed by training in inflammatory bowel disease and pelvic cancer at the Edinburgh Colorectal unit, Scotland. He has also worked in Hong Kong and Japan. He is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and a Member of the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand. He has a Masters of Surgery degree from the University of Sydney and is currently a member of the RACS court of examiners in General Surgery. He is the RACS Surgical Education and Training Supervisor for Concord Hospital.

Anil’s practice includes all facets of open and laparoscopic colorectal surgery, hernia surgery, advanced colonoscopy and anorectal ultrasound and physiology. His interests are the development of new techniques in laparoscopic surgery and the training of fellows in laparoscopic colorectal surgery. He manages the laparoscopic colorectal database at Concord Hospital and is involved in teaching and training at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels through Sydney and Macquarie universities.
